Veteran crews will be placed according to their actual time, but the pennants will be presented to the crew with the fastest adjusted time. A veteran is someone who has attained the age of 31 years or will attain this age during race year. The National Veterans Commission has updated the Handicapping data for long distance races / heads, the revision will be implemented for the 2009 season this was agreed on the 19th Jan 2009. As a result of this the WEHoRR took the decision to implement these changes for 2009 as explained in the revised Veteran Handicap Operating Notes for Head's received from the ARA . Should any competitor require further information please contact the ARA or the National Veterans Commission. |

| SCHOOL/JUNIOR | OVERSEAS CREWS | |
| The School/Junior event is open to both School & Club crews. Competitors representing their school must be in full time secondary education and under 19 on race day. Competitors in club crews must not have reached 18 by 1st September in preceeding year of race. Crews for this event may be coxed by an adult. |
Overseas crews are only eligible to enter Elite, Veteran, School/Junior categories. Overseas University crews are eligible to compete for the University pennant. Irish crews shall be deemed to be overseas crews. |
